Wedding – Marriage

St. John’s is a popular place for celebrate marriage also called wedding. We have a gothic church, a modern ministry centre and beautiful remembrance gardens. These offer the perfect opportunity for some beautiful wedding photos.

 

The cost of a wedding at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church is $1250.

This includes meetings with the priest. There will be meetings for marriage preparation. There will be a meeting to discuss and organise the marriage liturgy itself. And, of course there will be a full rehearsal of the wedding so it all goes well.

The fee includes the use of the church.

The fee includes the flowers for the Church on the wedding day.

The fee includes the services of the organist.

A non-refundable deposit of $250 secures your booking.

Wedding photographers and their cameras are respectful.

Sorry, but there is to be no use of confetti or streamer-style decoration either in or near the church building.

If a wedding service sheet is used, this is covered by Diocesan copyright. Sources of prayers, songs etc. must be acknowledged

A licence needs to be obtained for the video recording of the liturgy. Application forms are available from the priest

All necessary paperwork is available from the priest

You will need the full Birth Certificate (not just the extract) of the bride and groom which must be seen by the priest. This is a legal requirement.

The Anglican Rite of Marriage will be used as the liturgy for the wedding.

We ask that all music used within the service be appropriate to the solemnity of the occasion. The choice of music is to be discussed with the priest.
